‘Zoro’ Actor Mackenyu Gets Miserable While Reading Thirst Tweets From ‘One Piece’ Fans

Live-action adaptations of anime and manga don’t have the best track record, but that didn’t deter Netflix from adapting One Piece, one of the most popular anime and manga franchises in the world. In the weeks since its launch, the series has received a generally positive reception for its characters, tone, faithfulness to the source material, and more. It has also been renewed for a second season, albeit without a release date as of now.

Marketing One Piece to the masses has required a lot of work from the actors, namely those who play the Straw Hat Pirates. One of these actors is Mackenyu, who plays the character of Roronoa Zoro who aspires to be the world’s greatest swordsman. Mackenyu made an appearance on Still Watching Netflix, a YouTube channel, where he read “thirsty tweets” from fans of the show.

One Piece actor Mackenyu Read Fans Thirst Tweets

Mackenyu started by saying he didn’t know what to expect and then proceeded to start reading the tweets. The first tweet read by him from a fan said:

“One piece live action soon and I will finally see one of my favorite actors Mackenyu playing my other favorite babe Zoro twerking, going feral leg shaking”.

In response, Mackenyu looked stunned, almost as though he wasn’t sure how he was supposed to react. The next tweet he read was:

“Live action Zoro is beefy. Oh God.”

To this, Mackenyu was stunned too and didn’t know what to say at all. After that, he read out:

“Mackenyu reminding everyone from the get-go that Zoro has the biggest chests in all of one piece”.

This tweet is a reference to the fact that One Piece features a lot of female characters with curvaceous bodies, and while Mackenyu was confused, he chose to take it as a compliment.

Which tweets did Mackenyu react positively to?

After the tweets mentioned above, there were a few where Mackenyu reacted positively too, with more joy on his face. The first such tweet was:

“Mackenyu got three ear piercings while playing Zoro. His dedication to the role.”

Mackenyu looked a little surprised, and pleased, that this was recognized and he further explained that he got two additional piercings to his left ear. After that, he read out:

“Never going to get over how sexy Zoro is. He is the ultimate swordsman”.

To this, Mackenyu didn’t appear to look as happy as he did before, but he did say that the fan in question really loves Zoro, and was a little surprised by that. The next tweet he read was:

“really big fan of Zoro being sexy without even trying bc he’s literally a big dumb ass like love that for him.”

Mackenyu admitted that while Zoro can be a bit of a “dummy” at times, he was glad that the fans loved him.
