The 26-year-old actress, Zendaya had a major career boost when she switched from being a Disney star to a Marvel actor. That shift made her to become the leading actress in her role, MJ in Marvel’s Spider-Man series with Tom Holland in the titular role.

While the first film, Spider-Man: Homecoming did not manage to bring her true acting skills on-screen, her role evolved in the sequels which not only gave her much screentime but also to work with someone whom she saw on her first date.

The Euphoria actress is recently honored with the Star of the Year Award inside Ceasars Palace, the host of CinemaCon’s Big Screen Achievement Awards in Las Vegas.

During her acceptance speech, she opened up about her first date when she watched The Amazing Spider-Man which featured Andrew Garfield in the titular role.

“Literally my first date was when I was 15 years old and it was to go see Spider-Man in 3D.”

Little did the 15-year-old Zendaya know that she would end up working with Garfield in the near future. The duo not only starred together in Spider-Man: No Way Home but also shared a pretty intense scene in the film which became one of the fan favorites due to its grave meaning.

While No Way Home had full-on action, comedy, and three Spider-Men, it also reminded fans of Garfield’s story when Zendaya fell from the top. Though Garfield’s Spider-Man saved her on time. In an interview with Variety, Garfield shared his thoughts on the famous scene from the Watts film series as he shared,

“I love the idea that maybe Tom’s Peter would’ve suffered the same fate as Andrew’s Peter if Andrew hadn’t have somehow come into that universe and learned from the mistakes of the past — and made sure that my younger brother and his love didn’t have the same fate.”

For the unversed, The Amazing Spider-Man series had an emotional ending as Peter Parker lost his lover, Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacy which was a huge shock for the fans. However, Garfield’s Peter Parker got a chance to save MJ’s life and give a happy ending to the No Way Home‘s Parker.

Though fans knew that the film gave a different ending to Holland’s character which will be continued in the upcoming sequel. The film might be in development but doesn’t yet have a release date confirmed.
