Although Angelina Jolie is one of the biggest actresses in Hollywood, she is not always liked by those she works with. No doubt her talent surpasses that of many, but that has not pushed everyone to look at the positives that the actress has. Her success has been ever growing and so is her net worth. However, not everyone wants to work with her.
Seeing how far she has come in her career, it would not be a surprise for her that not everyone can be pleased. One particular incident made a director so angry that he refused to work with Jolie altogether and even called her names. This even escalated to a point where the entire world knew about the emails that were shared about her.
Scott Rudin Was Frustrated With Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie and Scott Rudin were meant to work on a project together. However, the movie never got to be made, and more so, things only worsened because she almost managed to ruin David Fincher’s career.
“You’ve destroyed your relationships with half the town over how you’ve behaved on this movie, and if you don’t think it’s true, wait and see… you don’t deserve one exhalation of breath on your behalf. You’ve behaved abominably and it will be a very, very long time before I forget what you did to this movie and what you’ve put all of us through.”
Fincher had been working on Steve Jobs at that time and could not focus his time outside of that. That did not sit well with Jolie as she wanted him to work on a Cleopatra movie starring her. The movie never even came to be and the previous co-chairman of Sony Pictures, Amy Pascal alongside Rudin had shared various emails regarding the director’s frustration with the actress.
Angelina Jolie Had A Massive Ego According To Scott Rudin
Scott Rudin being infuriated by Angelina Jolie was further magnified when the topic of the unreleased and unmade movie was introduced. He called her a spoiled brat on numerous occasions. Furthermore, he elaborated on how if he were to pay heed to her even a bit more, then he would be risking his own career as well as the career of David Fincher.
“A minimally talented spoiled brat who thought nothing of shoving this off her plate for eighteen months so she could go direct a movie [Unbroken]… She’s a camp event and a celebrity and that’s all and the last thing anybody needs is to make a giant bomb with her that any fool could see coming.”
Fincher’s movie was not something the director wanted to involve himself with and so he stated that he would rather not work with the actress altogether.
