Like many other Hollywood stars, Olivia Wilde has also been in conversation for her personal and professional life. Most recently, she was linked with the pop star and her Don’t Worry Darling co-star, Harry Styles, after her split from the actor Jason Sudeikis. She and Sudeikis were together for nine years and share two children. However, they decided to part ways in November 2020. They continued making headlines even after their split due to the legal custody of their children.
While Wilde’s relationship with Sudeikis and Harry Styles has been the subject of many headlines, she also had an Italian Prince in her life. The House actress was married to the filmmaker and Italian Prince Tao Ruspoli, and she strangely received some odd advice after her divorce from him.
Olivia Wilde Was Advised to Get Divorced Every Year
Olivia Wilde met her ex-husband, Tao Ruspoli, in 2003, and the connection was quick as the couple got married within six months of meeting. Wilde was only 19 years old when the couple tied the knot in Virginia, which according to the actress, gave her father a “minor heart attack.”
However, their relationship collapsed in 2011, and the two filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. And Wilde believed that coming out of her marriage helped her improve, not only as an individual but also as an actress.
“It makes you a more empathetic person, and I think it’s made me a better actress,” she said during an interview with Marie Claire. And seeing her doing even better in her profession after her divorce, the creator of her show House, David Shore, suggested she do it every year.
“You should get divorced every year; your acting’s never been better!” Wilde recalled Shore’s advice. She also shared that although things did not work out between her and Ruspoli, she didn’t regret their relationship and said that they are still friends.
Olivia Wilde Is Grateful For Her Relationship With Tao Ruspoli
Olivia Wilde was very young when she eloped with the Italian prince and the filmmaker Tao Ruspoli. Although they slowly drifted apart, the actress has shared that she is grateful for every aspect of their relationship. She also claimed that she did try her best to keep up with everything “until it was more hurtful to stay.”
The Change-Up actress said, “I’m so grateful for the pain and the heartbreak. It gave me the courage to leave and brought me to the great love of my life.” However, even after trying their best, things did not work out for them.
Wilde claimed that she couldn’t just pretend to be in a happy marriage as it wasn’t making her happy. But she also wanted to maintain a friendly relationship with her ex-husband and his family, as she can not keep a negative relationship with anyone.
