Known as The Terminator in Hollywood and the Austrian Oak in bodybuilding, Arnold Schwarzenegger has come a long way to become an icon in both. He is known as one of the biggest action stars in the film industry, with several hit films to his credit. Not just on-screen, the actor has been a successful businessman and environmentalist and has also served as the 38th Governor of California.
And he has continued to follow his fitness routine and still works out for half an hour every day. And most recently, he was joined by fellow bodybuilder and eight-time Mr. Olympia champion Ronnie Coleman. During this collaboration, the actor spoke about how the retired professional bodybuilder gave him tough competition in the Mr. Olympia race.
Arnold Schwarzenegger Works Out With Ronnie Coleman
Long before making a name for himself in Hollywood, Arnold Schwarzenegger was known to be a legend in the world of bodybuilding. He held the record for winning the most titles in the annual international bodybuilding competition, Mr. Olympia.
So far, only two bodybuilders have managed to beat his record, Lee Haney and Ronnie Coleman. And the Predator star recently joined the latter for a workout session at Gold’s Gym. Both of them shared their workout routine, and the 76-year-old actor seemed quite impressed with his fellow champion.
The bodybuilding legends are known to be good friends and respectful of each other. As they began the training session with an arm and shoulder workout, Schwarzenegger was surprised to find his fellow champion doing 15 reps per set while working out on the shoulder press machine.
Arnold Schwarzenegger Surprised With Ronnie Coleman’s Dedication
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Ronnie Coleman talked and made a few jokes before they started the training session. While both of them have been dedicated to the gym routine and are known to follow it, the Total Recall star was surprised by the retired bodybuilder’s dedication to his routine.
As the two ultimate champions took turns on the shoulder press machine, Colema surprised Schwarzenegger by doing an impressive 15 reps per set. However, the Commando star’s reps ranged from 8-12, leading him to point out the difference between a seven-time and an eight-time Mr.Olympia champion.
“Look at those reps how can anyone keep up with this stuff?” he said before adding, “Oh, man! You see that’s the difference between this eight-time Mr. Olympia and a mere seven times.” As Coleman continued doing so, the actor jokingly insisted on stopping pushing himself, saying that people might question, “Why is Ronnie always doing three more reps” than the Hollywood star.
