Katherine Heigl Is All Praise For Intimacy Coordinators On Set
Gone are the days when actors were forced to shoot uncomfortable intimate scenes. With Intimacy Coordinators on set, things have changed for the better for actors, especially female ones. The Grey’s Anatomy star Katherine Heigl is all praise for intimacy coordinators after shooting with them on the sets of Firefly Lane, however, her opinion wasn’t always this nice about them.
“I was like, ‘I’m an old Hollywood broad, b**ch. I know what I’m doing. You don’t have to tell me how to make out on camera. I was so awkward about it.”
Expressing how intimacy coordinators might create a lot of problems despite their good intentions, she felt their presence on set helped her feel protective and safe.
“I ended up loving this woman so deeply, and being so grateful for her, because she protected us in a way that I didn’t realize how unprotected we were. And I was so grateful to her as well, because we did have young girls on the set. There was a rape scene. And for her to be there protecting them, I felt this weight off of me in a way that I didn’t feel like I had to find a way to fight those battles for these girls.”
Feeling like a huge weight had been lifted off her, Katherine Heigl was thankful she didn’t have to feel like a bad guy or fight battles for young girls when shooting s*x scenes with Intimacy Coordinators.
