There was a time when Scarlet Johansson shocked and saddened her fans when she stated that she was done with MCU. Many people assumed that the 38-year-old actress will not return as Black Widow or won’t be seen in action in any of the MCU films.
The Lucy actress recently has given a glint of hope to everyone who didn’t want her to break the ties with the fictional universe. Johansson discussed her upcoming MCU endeavor in an interview.
Scarlet Johansson will be producing an MCU project
Scarlet Johansson won’t likely be seen in the movie as Natasha Romanoff, but she will be engaged as the producer this time. The Don Jon actress discussed her forthcoming MCU project, for which she will serve as the film’s producer. There is still a lot of work to be done on the movie, according to Johansson, as the writer’s protest has temporarily halted all production. The 38-year-old actress said during the interview,
“Yes. It is still happening, but not currently because nothing is happening right now. We’re all sort of in this holding pattern as we wait out the writers’ strike and potentially our own guild strike, and so on and so forth.”
This statement from the Ghost In the Shell actress gave people a hint that she is still a part of the MCU. Black Widow fans will also probably get to see Johansson back in MCU projects if things go well between her and the MCU.
Scarlet Johansson once said her MCU chapter is over
When the Black Widow actress appeared on Gwyneth Paltrow’s podcast The Goop Podcast, Johansson explained why she was giving up on MCU. Both the actresses discussed their MCU careers during the podcast interview but Johansson’s statement made waves on the internet. When Paltrow asked the Her actress if she was done with MCU, Johansson replied by saying,
“I’m done. Chapter is over. I kind of did all that I had to do. Also, coming back and playing a character again and again like that, over a decade of time, is such a unique experience.”
Johansson also mentioned her differences with Disney and stated in the same interview that all the problems between her and the mass media company have been resolved. While talking about Disney the 38-year-old actress said,
“I am happy to have resolved our differences with Disney. I’m incredibly proud of the work we’ve done together over the years and have greatly enjoyed my creative relationship with the team. I look forward to continuing our collaboration in years to come.”
Johansson sued Disney as per reports because according to the Match Point actress the mass media company had breached the contract. Soon after Johansson dragged Disney to court, the mass media company and Johansson’s team settled the case.
