As was revealed earlier this month, Xbox is planning to have a huge booth at the upcoming Gamescon and it promises to be bigger than any they’ve had previously. And apparently this isn’t just some chest-beating marketing talk but the Annual Event will see the Xbox team planning to go ‘all out’ this year.
The event is due to take place in Cologne in Germany at the end of August and is regarded by most, as the world’s largest gaming event. And hold the press, ‘Hide the Pain Harold’ will be appearing at Gamescon! You could meet the man, the myth, the legend himself! That’s got to be worth the price of admission alone!

What to expect from Xbox at Gamescon 2023
And if reports are to be believed then the playable games at this year’s event will include the much anticipated Forza Motorsport, Towerborne and the GSC Game World ‘s S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2:Heart of Chernobyl. The latter of which was subject of recent attacks by Russian hackers.
It was noted that the GSC Game World Studio had the following statement on the recent hacks;
“As for now, we kindly ask stalkers and those who want to join the Zone in the future not to look at or share any leaked materials from the game. Although these materials are only used for testing purposes and are not release-ready, these leaks may ruin your experience of exploring the Zone by yourself.”
It’s disappointing for the studio as they have had to move many of their developers out of Ukraine due to the Russian invasion of the country and relocate them to the Czech Republic. This has unfortunately seen delays to the game but thankfully now fans will be able to experience it in a playable format.
After the massive success of the Xbox Games Showcase in June, the company must be riding high on the crest of a wave. The numbers of views for the Showcase are really quite staggering and after around 7 days of the broadcast, there had been around 92 million views which is safe to say, the most watched Xbox show ever. And that is a 38% increase on viewing figures from the previous year.
