John Cena has long since stepped away from his title as a pro wrestler and entered the world of Hollywood, standing as one of the biggest actors in the industry. Although his journey as an actor might not have started out all rainbows and sunshine, his career as a wrestler was all too similar.
Now that he has evolved into a wrestler-turned-actor, he still holds onto his roots and is in fact getting ready to go head-to-head against Austin Theory. His talent lies in both acting and wrestling and he holds no fear when it comes to expanding that skill into pure passion. However, he certainly misses the old days when wrestlers were underpaid and overworked.
John Cena Looked Back At His Wrestling Career
John Cena has gone up against some of the greatest and most famous fighters in the wrestling league, putting him as one of the biggest wrestlers that WWE ever saw. Aside from Dwayne Johnson, John Cena competed against various other wrestlers. Those fights contributed to his fame. Moreover, his experience outside of the ring was even better. Although he did acknowledge that wrestlers get paid much more than they used to, he would never take that time back for the world.
“Nowadays, the business has evolved and in great ways. I romanticize about that period a lot because it was just super fun, but guys (now) are paid better. Guys are treated better. There’s less of a work schedule.”
The actor talked about how back when he was a pro wrestler, the schedules for every one used to be jam-packed and the aspects involved with it were often what brought him a lot of joy. Despite the low pay, he enjoyed every second of it and looks back at those times in a state of awe.
John Cena Reminisced About His Time As A Wrestler
John Cena could not stop admiring just how good his experience was as a pro wrestler. The wrestlers would have infamous on-screen feuds that would last for as long as their wrestling careers did. However, once the camera was out of play, everyone would hang out with each other and be friends with each other. They would all play around and spend time with each other even after work was over.
He somewhat compared the environment to that of a university brotherhood. Everyone there would enjoy each other’s company and function in a way a fraternity would. Looking back at his past, he is more than happy to take another step in his WWE career and fight Austin Theory. Theory challenged him to a fight with an offer Cena just couldn’t refuse, putting the United States Championship on the line.
