When gamers think about Grand Theft Auto, they don’t often think about co-op except for things like Grand Theft Auto Online, which isn’t a traditional format of co-op. Still, thanks to some speculation in regards to GTA 6, we can start to assume that there could be a traditional co-op element to the main campaign itself, but this has also brought worries to fans of the series as there are a few concerns in regard to this development.

Why do people think GTA 6 will have Co-Op
So far, GTA 6 has received way too many leaks and rumours to even count, as it has been expected for many years, and most of these leaks and rumours aren’t worth even thinking about. Still, there have been a lot of leaks in regard to the playable protagonists that will be available in GTA 6’s campaign mode.
Most of the leaks that talk about the story of GTA 6 talk about the two playable protagonists that will be available, and these two characters are best described as modern-day Bonnie and Clyde as they start at the bottom of the crime world and take part in robbing banks, causing crime and just in general being bad people in society. This has led many people to assume that there will be at least two playable characters that gamers will be able to control, and this has led many people to both hope and believe that GTA 6 will have some sort of co-op that they can use during this campaign.
This wouldn’t be the first time GTA has had a co-op story, as back in San Andreas, there was the opportunity to have co-op. Still, unfortunately, the second player wasn’t impactful to the outcome of the story as only the single main protagonist impacted what happened during the story. This is what gamers are currently concerned about, as they do not want two playable protagonists and co-op to only have an impact on one of the characters. Hopefully, this won’t happen, but there is the possibility it could go wrong.

What other fears do gamers have in regard to Co-Op in GTA?
At the moment, with the limited information we have in regard to GTA 6, there are a lot of fears for gamers who hope to have a co-op campaign, as right now, the leaks tend to lean towards the Bonnie and Clyde theory, but this can change at any moment and may not even be an accurate leak at this current time. Another fear many gamers have is that they do not want a situation like Rockstar’s other famous title Bully where they were able to play co-op but only in mini-games, which doesn’t have the same impact.
Finally, one of the more significant fears is if GTA has any form of multiplayer at all, as so far, there has been no information pointing towards a GTA Online for GTA 6. Still, again this doesn’t mean it won’t have it at all, but it may not be able to live up to the hype of a traditional co-op storyline that many gamers are desperately hoping for.
