Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker Meets His Multiversal Variants
When Tobey Maguire got the call asking if he wanted to play alongside his fellow Spider-Man actors he jumped on the opportunity to put on the nostalgic suit after 14 years. He shared that although he immediately agreed to their proposition, the role was “not without nerves”.
“When they called initially, I was like finally! [Laughs] I got the call and was immediately open about coming to do this. Not without nerves – you know, ‘What will this look like and what will the experience be?’ But to get to show up with beautiful, talented, creative people and play together? It’s just like, ‘Yes!’ It’s fun and exciting.”
Maguire said that putting on the suit would definitely be challenging but it also felt good to be back in character. He further added that getting into the costume was not fun but slowly it grew on him and “You start to feel pretty at home pretty swiftly”. The Spider-Man actor expressed his love for the Spider-Man franchises, all three of them. He said that he was willing to do any Spider-Man-related work.
“I love these films and I love all of the different series. If these guys called me and said, ‘Would you show up tonight to hang out and goof around?’ or ‘Would you show up to do this movie or read a scene or do a Spider-Man thing?’, it would be a ‘yes!’ Because why wouldn’t I want to do that?”
Tobey Maguire returned to the MCU to portray the role of Peter Paker alongside Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Not only the protagonists gathered in one place, but even the villains from all three Spider-Man universes also came along. Willem Dafoe as Norman Osborn, Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus, and Jamie Foxx as Electro.
The movie became a fan-favorite Spider-Man movie as all three actors came together to fight against the villains, which MCU fans have been wanting for a long period of time. The movie was breaking records left and right with fan reactions and positive critic reviews.
Tobey Maguire’s Split From Jennifer Meyer
Tobey Maguire and Jennifer Meyer started dating in 2003 and after 4 years of being in a relationship got married in 2007. And after 9 years of being together with two children, they decided to split in 2016, and in 2020 Meyer finally filed for divorce. At the time of their split, Maguire was a very ‘stay-in’ person and was extremely private about his social life and did not share any information about his separation from Meyer.
In contrast, Jennifer Meyer was a very social person and had an outgoing personality. As their personalities were absolutely opposite some sources confirmed that “They haven’t been happy together for a long time”. Though Maguire was the talk in the earlier days as he was an A-list actor, recently he has been quite quiet. Since his 2020 divorce, both Maguire and Meyer have moved on with separate partners.
