James Cameron’s sequel to the highest-grossing movie of all time has shaken the world through its visuals and immaculate world-building with an underlying love for mother nature. And it appears that alongside fans, the actress Nia Long was too overwhelmed by the riveting world of Pandora.
The You People actress has previously shared her distaste with the filmmakers for not even bringing her as a topic of discussion for the role of Neytiri in James Cameron’s Avatar. But it seems that the actress’ desire to star in James Cameron’s epic remains.
Nia Long shares her regret for not getting the role of Neytiri in Avatar
In an interview with The Cut, Nia Long expressed her love and respect for James Cameron’s Avatar and its sequel. And even though the actress has commended Zoe Saldana for her immaculate performance as Neytiri in both of the movies, the actress shared that she was initially upset after the filmmakers didn’t even consider her for the role of Neytiri. The actress stated,
“I’ve felt passed over on things, for sure. There have been moments like, ‘Why wasn’t I considered for that?’ Like, why wasn’t I considered for Avatar? I wasn’t even a topic of discussion, you know? A lot of times, to be fair, directors know in their minds who they want. It’s happened to me, and it’s not happened for me.”
Even though the actress has been part of many successful projects throughout her career, the actress believes that the best is yet to come. The You People actress has also been optimistic about her future in the industry and is hopeful that someday she will get the opportunity to be a part of the beautiful world of Pandora.
Nia Long wishes to be a part of the upcoming Avatar sequels
Even though the You People actress was passed on from the role of Neytiri, the actress expressed that she would still love to be a part of the immersive world of Pandora. Nia Long shared that she would even consider doing a supporting role in the upcoming sequels to get a chance to witness the immersive world of Pandora. She stated,
“I would even do a supporting role in a film like that because it’s so magical and beautiful, and there are so many lessons and a connection to Mother Nature, humanity, and race. I just think it’s fantastical.”
Considering the enormous success of Avatar: The Way of Water, it appears that Avatar is going to have a plethora of sequels in the coming years. And now fans hope that Nia Long finally gets an opportunity to star in the upcoming sequels and gets to witness the immersive world of Pandora.
