MCU’s Secret Invasion recently wrapped up its six-episode Disney+ show in July and sparked headlines regarding certain viral moments from the episodes. Among these, the most exciting moment appeared to be Emilia Clarke’s battle against Kingsley Ben-Adir. While the show received mixed reviews, regarding its presentation and storyline, the viral fight scene simply added more.
In Secret Invasion, Emilia Clarke played the role of a Skrull, who shapeshifted during the fight scene to make her arm look like Drax’s from the Guardians of the Galaxy. However, the particular display of power simply perplexed the audience and even unfolded a debate on Twitter, regarding the CGI.
MCU Has A Record Of Receiving Criticism Over CGI
Secret Invasion recently wrapped up its roller coaster Disney+ show by the end of July and overwhelmed the audience with its episodes. Hopping from death scenes of favorite characters to the unfolding of important information, the six episodes MCU show happened to have been a complete package of entertainment.
Although the series eventually experienced a drop in its reviews, due to several aspects, its CGI wasn’t a reason until fans began pointing it out on Twitter. While MCU has a record of facing negative reviews for their VFX and CGI, Secret Invasion somehow waged war on Twitter for the same.
Previously, after Avengers: Endgame, MCU received a surge in criticism over Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania‘s CGI as the movie suffered due to its lack of resources. However, when it came to Secret Invasion, people somehow had mixed opinions over its VFX. The entire discussion originated after the final fight scene broke out between Emilia Clarke’s G’iah and Kingsley Ben-Adir’s Gravik.
Fans Defend Secret Invasion‘s VFX Amid Twitter Debate
Following the viral battle between G’iah and Gravik in Secret Invasion, fans began discussing the shapeshifting CGI of the scene. While Emilia Clarke‘s character was a Skrull who had special skills of shapeshifting due to the infusion of superhero DNA, her arm appearing similar to Drax’s from the Guardians of the Galaxy seemed a bit too much for fans.
The particular display of Clarke’s power, simply unfolded discussion on Twitter, where a handful of fans criticized the CGI, while most of them simply defended the effort. The war broke out on Twitter after a few fans took offense with people criticizing the concerning look of Drax’s arm on Clarke.
Although the main complaint revolved around the proportion of Drax’s bulky masculine arm on someone like Emilia Clarke, which made it look weird, fans still defended the CGI irrespective of issues.
