Is Galactus set to be the villain in Fantastic Four?

Since the first day it was announced that Marvel’s First Family will get their first ‘MCU’ movie in 2025, the fans have been filled with hype. The fans have already seen three iterations of the superhero team in the past and were excited to watch Kevin Feige‘s take. But after the new reports, looks like the hype for Fantastic Four is affected to some extent.

In John Rocha’s The Hot Mic Podcast, trusted insider Jeff Sneider reported that Galactus will be the main antagonist in the 2025 movie. He also revealed that MCU will present the planet-devouring supervillain as a Latino- “The main villain is Galactus and I’m told that Galactus will be Latino”.

Earlier many sources rumored that a Kang variant could be the main villain in the Fantastic Four movie, given he is the current big baddie of the MCU. But it is unsure if Galactus was in MCU’s minds for a long time or if it is the allegations against Jonathan Majors that led them to such a decision. But Sneider also reported that the movie would also have Doom in the last.

According to the Insider, The Bear fame Ebon Moss-Bachrach can be cast as Doctor Doom who would be set up as a major villain for the future.

“But I, you know, do I think it’s possible Ebon Moss-Bachrach could be cast as Dr. Doom. Um, but he’s only in you know in like the last at the end of the movie basically.”

Jeff Sneider also suggests that the actor might also appear as the Silver Surfer. But the fans aren’t happy at anything as they feel Galactus to be a Thanos-level threat who would need a proper set-up instead of being the main villain in a single movie.

The fans still remember how 2007’s Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer showed us a cosmic cloud thingy in the name of Galactus. The memories still haunt us as the fans can’t let go of their skepticism for the upcoming MCU project. Considering the recent track record of the MCU, it is no lie that we can’t believe something truly before watching it. Amidst the rising reports regarding the Galactus, fans have started to question the absence of Victor Von Doom as the main villain.

Although Doctor Doom is also a Thanos-level baddie and Sneider also reports that the movie will set him up, the fans can’t accept Galactus as he is also one of the most iconic antagonists. Twitter has been turned into a hotpot of varied opinions that suggest why Marvel is going the wrong way with their Fantastic Four. Let’s take a look at some tweets:

Jeff Sneider also reported that the Mission Impossible star Vanessa Kirby is the frontrunner for the role of Sue Storm aka Invisible Woman. But none of his reports are officially corroborated by the studio so we have to wait before jumping to the conclusion.

Fantastic Four is slated to be released on May 2, 2025.
