One has to be living under a rock if they are alien to Harry Styles’ existence. The singer has to his credit pop songs such as As It Was, Watermelon Sugar, and Sign Of The Times; which are all unmissable hits, with special thanks to his ever-loyal fan base, for making the songs few of the most reel-ed songs on Instagram.
The singer and actor is also a global fashion icon, who has also been credited with “redefining masculinity.” Along with multiple hit songs and critically acclaimed complex film roles, Styles has also been the face of one of Gucci‘s tailoring campaigns. With as many accolades to his name, is the name ‘Harry Styles’ really miss-able?
The (multi-talented) man, the myth, the legend
Harry Styles is a British singer, songwriter, and actor who rose to fame as a member of the boy band One Direction in 2010. After the band ultimately broke up in 2016, following the premature exodus of co-member Zayn Malik, Styles embarked on a successful solo career. He has released three albums, Harry Styles (2017), Fine Line (2019), and Harry’s House (2022); all of which have been commercial successes.
Styles has also starred in several films, including Dunkirk (2017) and Eternals (2021). He has been praised for his natural acting talent and his ability to bring complex characters to life. Styles is a versatile actor, and he has shown that he can excel in various genres. He is also a fan favorite, not only because of his talent and good looks but also his modesty and humility.
Harry Styles’ down-to-earth demeanor often makes him unrecognizable
But his humility and modesty have also contributed to a couple of instances where the global pop star and actor has gone unrecognized by other Hollywood celebrities. In an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Ashton Kutcher narrated an incident where he was with his wife Mila Kunis at a karaoke party when a young man took over and started singing an ABBA song. They liked it so much that Ashton Kutcher went to the man and complimented his singing and advised him to be a singer. The host of this party later told the couple that the young man was Harry Styles.
Another instance where a fellow celebrity didn’t recognize the global heartthrob was when Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania actress Evangeline Lily confessed that she didn’t know about Harry Styles until she saw Eternals. While promoting the film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in an interview, she said,
“I have to say at the end of ‘Eternals,’ when that guy walked on the ship in the end credits… Well, for me, it was ‘that guy,’ and I was like: ‘Who’s that kid? Because he’s going to be very successful. He’s got some serious mojo,’” Lilly recalled. “I swear to god. I was like: ‘He’s gonna be a big star. That’s what I thought to myself.”
Styles played Eros, the brother of Thanos. Styles’ performance was met with mixed reviews, but he was praised for his chemistry with Angelina Jolie, who played his onscreen sister, Thena.
Though in its early stages, Styles’ acting career has already shown that he is a talented actor with a bright future.
