This article contains spoilers for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
Kang debuted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the first time in Loki (2021), in the first season of the popular series, as He Who Remains, a variant of himself. MCU has confirmed that fans will get to see several variants of Kang, with Avengers: The Kang Dynasty (2025) poised to portray the time-manipulator in all his glory.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023) shows us at least two variants of the Conqueror: Warrior Kang, and Immortus. Immortus was teased mid-credits, while a third variant, Victor Timely, was also teased in the post-credits scene. Jonathan Majors, who played the role of He Who Remains, reprised the role of Kang as the Conqueror in the movie and has been playing it to near-perfection after almost passing up the offer to play the supervillain.
Immortus: who he is, and what he means for the MCU
Nathaniel Richards was a time traveler from Earth-616 who ensured that Earth-6311 never had to face the Dark Ages, by ending war and strife here. A supposed descendant of this Nathaniel was Nathaniel Richard of Earth-6311, who goes on to travel across time and universes to assume the guise of Kang the Conqueror, after passing through the form of many variants, including that of the Scarlet Centurion.
Immortus is a Kang variant who has been tasked with the job of pruning the Sacred Timeline by the Time Keepers. While the Time Keepers would rather take on swift action to keep the Timeline safe, Immortus uses tact and negotiation to avert chronic disaster. He was tasked with killing Scarlet Witch after she was deemed to be a nexus event by the Time Keepers, but he dealt with her using his trademark guile and manipulation of timelines.

From The Kang Dynasty to Secret Wars, through Immortus
Immortus is crucial in the Kang storyline. He has fought Kang variants earlier, and he is touted to shape up against Warrior Kang as his primary opponent. Immortus is likely to rally other Kang variants against the warrior variant, who knows all fighting techniques in the universe.
Kang is the major supervillain in the Multiverse Saga but is probably the only shot Earth has to prevent an incursion – an overlapping of parallel universes – and the attempt by Immortus, and late the Avengers, to stop him in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty (2025) can lead to what culminates into Avengers: Secret Wars (2026). It remains to be seen how the self-proclaimed “Lord of Time”, Immortus, shapes up in the MCU, and how the Time Keepers plan on dealing with the imminent incursion.
