Even though the Ant-Man movies haven’t been insanely huge Box Office successes, they’ve still been very important for the grand narrative of the MCU. The Quantum Realm aspect played a massive role in Endgame’s time travel exploration, and now Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will also act as a catalyst that leads us into Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. But that’s not the only movie it will lead us to, is it? We might get set-ups for Fantastic Four, and even the eventual Young Avengers team-up through a Kate Bishop cameo in the post-credits scene!
Fan Reactions To Kate Bishop in Ant-Man 3
Hailee Steinfeld’s beloved debut as Kate Bishop in Hawkeye is going to grow into something bigger. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania already packs a massive roster of characters with the entire Ant-Man family returning alongside Corey Stoll’s MODOK, Jonathan Majors’ Kang, and Billy Murray’s Krylar being the new addition. But Marvel Updates’ Twitter account claims that we’d also be getting an appearance from Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop.
Now, the fans have had some interesting and confused reactions to this:
People are totally missing the point!
The Source of this is being put into question:
But most fans do get why she’d appear. It is to set up the Young Avengers.
People are looking forward to Kate and Cassie’s friendship!
It’ll be interesting to see who recruits who though.
Why Kate Bishop Appears in Ant-Man 3?
Marvel has been establishing the characters for MCU’s eventual Young Avengers project. It could be a movie, but it’s highly likely that we’ll be seeing a Disney+ crossover series event involving all the Young Avengers candidates. And it starts with this Kate Bishop cameo in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Marvel Updates hasn’t always got all of their scoops right, but they’ve been spot-on with some for sure. So, you could take their scoop with a grain of salt, but you’ve got to agree that a Kate Bishop appearance in Quantumania would make sense.
Someone like Val, or whoever is handling the Young Avengers unit (maybe Clint and Lyla together) could send Kate Bishop to recruit Cassie Lang. And together, they could become joint leaders of a team that includes America Chavez, Riri Williams, Kamala Khan, Eli Bradley, Kid Loki (probably), Skaar (again probably), Nathaniel Richards, and older Billy & Tommy when they arrive in Agatha: Coven of Chaos.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania arrives on February 17, 2023, and we should expect to see a Young Avengers project in 2025, or maybe in 2026.
