The Disney CEO criticized the Writers Strike
The Writers Strike hasn’t gone unnoticed by anyone, as it has created chaos in the industry. Many highly anticipated shows are on hiatus due to this strike. Recently, during an appearance on CNBC’s Squawk Box, Disney CEO Bob Iger gave a statement on the ongoing strike. Iger said that the writers and actors who have participated in this strike are not being realistic with their expectations. He said,
“I understand any labor organization’s desire to work on behalf of its members to get the most compensation and be compensated fairly based on the value that they deliver. We managed, as an industry, to negotiate a very good deal with the directors guild that reflects the value that the directors contribute to this great business.”
“We wanted to do the same thing with the writers, and we’d like to do the same thing with the actors. There’s a level of expectation that they have, that is just not realistic.”
According to Disney’s CEO, the strike is having a damaging effect on the business. Iger clearly stated his opinion on the strike, however, some writers have condemned his notion and have opened up about the injustice served to them.

While everyone is ready with their opinion on the WGA strike, some vulnerable writers have been severely affected. Amidst this ongoing chaos, a former Disney show writer, James Rogers III, opened up about the injustice he faced in return for his hard work.
Rogers III is the writer of the Disney+ hit show The Mysterious Benedict Society. The writer recently took to Twitter and claimed that Disney+ took down two seasons of the series. Disney+ was the only exclusive platform where the show streamed. Though Rogers’s hard work was put to vain, he was supported by internet users. Check out the tweets below:
Both seasons of the series earned eleven Emmy nominations, out of which they won two awards.
