Sandra Bullock recently starred in a new adventure movie called The Lost City. Channing Tatum, known for his role in Magic Mike, also appeared in the film alongside Bullock. Not only did Bullock act in the movie, but she also served as its producer.
The audience really enjoyed the action-packed and funny story, making it a successful film at the box office. Interestingly, there was also a quick surprise appearance by Brad Pitt in the movie. However, Bullock was taken aback by how muscular Pitt looked in the film.
Sandra Bullock Didn’t Expect Brad Pitt To Buff Up For The Lost City
Sandra Bullock was in for a surprise when Brad Pitt, known for his Oscar-winning role in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, decided to bulk up for his small cameo in her film, The Lost City.
Talking to The New York Times, Bullock said,
“He walked in, and I went, ‘What happened to your body?’ He’s like, ‘I bulked up for the role.’ I was like, ‘For this role? The one where you’re here for three and a half days?’. He even gave us an extra day. I had to go into the trailer and go, ‘Mr. Pitt, I know you only contractually gave us three days, but do you mind?’”
Pitt only had to be on set for three and a half days, but he put in the effort to develop a strong and muscular physique that suited his character. This cameo appearance was a favor from Pitt to Bullock, who had made a brief appearance in his action movie, Bullet Train.
The Lost City, an action-adventure comedy, starred Bullock and Channing Tatum as the main characters, with Daniel Radcliffe, famous for his role in Harry Potter, playing the leading antagonist. Directed by the Nee brothers, the film was based on a story by Seth Gordon, and the screenplay was co-written by the Nee brothers, Oren Uziel, and Dana Fox.
Brad Pitt And Sandra Bullock Did Cameos In Each Other’s Films
Brad Pitt agreed to do a small part in Sandra Bullock’s film, The Lost City, as a way of returning a favor. Bullock had previously made a cameo appearance in Pitt’s action film, Bullet Train. Interestingly, the nature of their cameo appearances was rooted in reality and their friendship. They share the same hairstylist, Janine Thompson, who played a crucial role in making their reciprocal cameos happen.
Bullock revealed that her contract for Bullet Train mirrored Pitt’s contract for The Lost City. This equal treatment emphasized the friendly exchange between the two stars. Bullock expressed her appreciation for the longstanding favors they have done for each other throughout the years.
When the role in Bullet Train came up, Janine, who handles both Bullock’s and Pitt’s hair, connected them. Pitt took the opportunity to ask Janine to relay the message to Bullock that she could join the cast of Bullet Train.
“Brad and I have been doing favors for each other back and forth over the years. Janine Thompson, who does my hair, also does Brad’s hair, and he got her on the phone and said, ‘Can Sandy come do Bullet Train?’ When we saw this role, we said, ‘All right, Janine, talk to Brad. You’re right near his head right now – lean down into his ear and say, ‘You’re doing Lost City.’ And he did.”
In return, when they discovered the role in The Lost City, they instructed Janine to persuade Pitt to take part in the film. Their camaraderie and mutual support made these reciprocal cameos possible.
The Lost City is available on Paramount+ while Bullet Train can be streamed from Netflix.
