Babylon has been one of the controversial movies released last year. The movie starring Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, and, Tobey Maguire was one of the most extremely reviewed films. Many people considered it a masterpiece, while others considered it a mix of pure chaos.
The surprising part of the movie is that Damien Chazelle, the director of the movie anticipated the reception. Chazelle even welcomed the mixed reception and was grateful that the movie divided audiences.
Margot Robbie’s Babylon Was Meant To Be Controversial
With a story set during the early days of Hollywood, Babylon followed the lives of actors that would lose themselves in depravities and decadence just to make a name for themselves. The movie was a bold move at best and was received in the same manner by audiences worldwide.
Damien Chazelle, the director known for movies like Whiplash, La La Land, and, First Man helmed the movie as its director. As per reports, Chazelle, in an interview with Insider, said he had anticipated the mixed reviews and even welcomed them. According to the director, he loved that the movie divided audiences.
“It’s good to have something that stimulates conversation and debate and a lot of fierce opinions on either side. We all knew the movie was gonna ruffle some feathers and get some people mad, and I think that’s good,”
Babylon starred Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt, and, Tobey Maguire and yet, the movie currently stands at a rating of 55% on Rotten Tomatoes and a strong 7.4/10 on IMDB. Not only Damien Chazelle, but lead actress Margot Robbie also enjoyed the crazy ride aboard the chaotic train that was Babylon.

Margot Robbie Found The Role In Babylon To Be Liberating
According to The Suicide Squad actress, Margot Robbie found the role to be liberating since she was allowed whatever she wanted to do.
“I was allowed to do absolutely anything and it was just so liberating… it was just madness every day on set. It was a different ball game, would loved to have seen moviemaking back then, it seemed like there were no rules and it was just madness.”
Currently, there have been no streaming details for the movie released. Since Paramount Pictures handled the distribution of the movie, it can be assumed that the movie may release on Paramount+ (rumored) in the near future.
