Working together in the 2018 movie, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld will once again team up as Miles Morales aka Spiderman, and Gwen Stacy aka Spiderwoman respectively, for the upcoming sequel. With Sony Pictures releasing the trailer of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, the web-swinging duo was spotted reuniting in their universe, along with a new addition.

All set to introduce an Indian version of Spiderman, Sony Studios brought in the Deadpool star, Karan Soni for the role of Pavitr Prabhakar in the comic book movie. However, although the trailer featured a glimpse of the Indian superhero in action, Hailee Steinfeld mentioned being completely unaware of the addition while signing for the film.

Karan Soni Joins Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

While the OG team including Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy, gets back to fight some villains in the upcoming sequel Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Sony Studios has added an Indian version to the film this time. Introducing Karan Soni as Pavitr Prabhakar aka Indian Spiderman, the studios helped the Marvel star cross universe.

Known for his work in Deadpool movies, Karan Soni joins Hailee Steinfeld and Shameik Moore for his voice role in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Scheduled to arrive in theatres on June 2nd, 2023, a 30-second character video clip from Sony Pictures’ highly anticipated comic book movie, features Pavitr Prabhakar introducing himself to Miles Morales.

Made with a budget of $90M, the prequel was praised for its unique animation style and the way of diving into the multiverse. Further, winning hearts, the prequel earned a whopping $384.3M at the box office. Looking forward to creating a trilogy, the film series is thus waiting to release its upcoming sequel Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in 2023, followed by Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse in 2024.

Hailee Steinfeld On The New Addition To The Movie 

All set to release, the movie is expected to create box office records with its brilliant storyline and amazing cast. Featuring Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld’s character from the sequel, Karan Soni’s Pavitr Prabhakar is a prominent new addition to the team. Although his introduction might have come as a surprise to Soni’s co-stars, his character was initially developed, back in January 2005.

Shockingly enough, Hailee Steinfeld confessed to being completely unaware of Pavitr Prabhakar’s introduction while signing for the film. So much so, even Shameik Moore stated the same. Speaking exclusively with News18, the duo mentioned, “We didn’t know before. We didn’t know a lot, very far in advance,”. Hailee Steinfeld stated,

So we were sort of discovering that character and the world of Mumbatam as we were making the project and it is so, so, so incredible to add something to this film and to the world of Spider-Man that we’ve never seen before and I am very excited about it.”

While Pavitr Prabhakar’s character is a new introduction to the movie, Hailee Steinfeld and Shameik Moore rejoiced in the introduction. Initially kept in the dark by Sony Studios, both the actors agreed on how brilliant the introduction was. They further discussed their personal attachment to their characters and mentioned looking forward to the live action on the big screen. 

Scheduled to release on 2nd June 2023, catch the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in your nearest theatres.
