Tom Holland Hit Back At Taking A Break From Acting Rumor

The Crowded Room actor claimed during an appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark that the dismal ratings for the Apple TV+ series had no bearing on his choice to take a one-year hiatus from the entertainment industry. In contrast to earlier inaccurate reports, he also stated that his hiatus from acting began eight months ago.

It’s so funny. Obviously, ‘The Crowded Room’ came out. We didn’t have very favorable reviews. So the press story was that I have taken this year off because of the reviews,” Holland said. “But I’m eight months into my year off. I’ve been chilling at home in London, going to Grand Prixes, playing golf.”

He added: “I would like to say a massive thank you to my fans, and the people that have seen the show because we’re at 94% on Rotten Tomatoes. I feel so grateful that I have a wonderful community of people that support me and are there for me, so I’m honored and excited for the rest of the show to come out.”

Tom Holland Says He Is Already Eight Months Into His Year Off

When Tom Holland announced last week that he would be taking a year off from acting, the news was enormous. The Apple TV+ series The Crowded Room, which the actor, 27, claims “did break” him, took a significant toll on his mental health, and that is why he made the decision.

In an appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark on Tuesday, Holland clarified this statement by stating that he has been on break for eight months now, starting after The Crowded Room ended last year. Additionally, he thanked the audience for their support of the program, which he acknowledged had received mixed reviews at first.

In the 10-episode limited series The Crowded Room, a man is detained after being associated with a shooting in New York City in 1979. Holland portrays Danny Sullivan in the psychological thriller; the character was based on Billy Mulligan, often known as The Campus Rapist, who was the focus of a widely reported court case in the late 1970s.

The Crowded Room‘s first three episodes will be available on Apple TV+ starting June 9; thereafter, through July 28, an episode will be released every Friday.
