James Cameron Doesn’t Need Vin Diesel to Survive

James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water has been released on December 16, 2022, worldwide and has been on a roll since then. It has amassed a total of more than $1.9 billion and is only going to increase. But Vin Diesel was nowhere to be seen in the movie, even though he was seen on the set of Avatar 2 and many rumors were also spread about him joining the Na’vi family.

Diesel’s video further spread fire as the rumors were no longer rumors as people started to believe that his role in Avatar: The Way of Water has already been confirmed after he commented,

“It’s long overdue, there is one person in Hollywood I’ve always wanted to work with and learn from, and so all things come, I guess, to those who wait”.

The Fast and Furious star also said that he would be going big and blue. Vin Diesel also started talking to the people about Avatar 2 and also nodded on his involvement in the sequel. He also went public during an interview with Entertainment Tonight in 2019, saying,

“Probably my favorite in the whole cast [and] the closest in my family is Zoe Saldana. Hence Avatar. Hence why I’m doing Avatar or one of the reasons.”

Later, it was revealed that Diesel was just a fan of Cameron’s work and visited the set to watch how they worked on the set. But Avatar 2 producer Jon Landau shared with Empire that, “He came in, visited the set one day to see what we were doing and people took it out of context”. Though he was a fan, he might have instigated the rumors of him starring in Avatar 2.
