Jackie Earle Haley played the character of the antihero Rorschach so well in Zack Snyder‘s Watchmen that fans believe no one could’ve done justice to the character as the 61-year-old has. After enjoying the spotlight for his most renowned role, the Oscar winner has once again stepped into the limelight as he hinted at liking the idea of playing the villain in The Batman 2.

On July 6, 2023, a fan tweeted on Twitter how they would love to see Jackie Earle Haley cast as The Mad Hatter in The Batman 2 in the Reevesverse. To this tweet, the Watchmen actor responded by tweeting,

“I’d love to see that, too.”

With Matt Reeves‘ The Batman getting amazing reviews and The Batman 2 reportedly in the making, fans have been curious about the villains in this movie. One of these might be The Mad Hatter, an infamously compelling yet upsetting villain of Batman in the DC verse.

As perceived by fans, The Mad Hatter could be one of the most unsettling Batman villains of all time. A madman of an exotic gimmick, Jervis Tetch AKA The Mad Hatter is adapted from the novel Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’s Mad Hatter. With trippy visual effects in a perfectly grounded movie, The Mad Hatter could prove to be the ultimate villain in Reeve’s The Batman sequel.

After the presence of The Mad Hatter teased in the trailer of The Batman 2, fans are really hoping for Jackie Earle Haley to be cast for the role of this gimmicky villain in the Reevesverse. But with no confirmation as of such, whether fans’ dreams will come true or not, only time can tell.

You can stream The Batman on HBO Max.
