Director/actor/producer/screenwriter Tommy Wiseau has had an interestingly successful career in Hollywood. His film The Room (the subject of James Franco’s critically acclaimed biopic The Disaster Artist) is considered the best worst movie ever made… solidifying itself as a modern cult classic.

It seems though that Wiseau has his eyes set on another classic role… the Joker. Nerdist released a strange but hilarious video of Wiseau auditioning for the title role of Todd Phillips’ upcoming Joker solo film. Wiseau, in full Heath Ledger Joker garb, spouts our signature lines from Christopher Nolan’s highly acclaimed 2008 flick… The Dark Knight. The Room co-star Greg Sestero joins in as the perfect foil to Wiseau’s disastrous plans… sporting a leather jacket and rubber Batman cowl.
“After his success in “The Room” and the “The Disaster Artist,” Tommy Wiseau has been publicly campaigning for one of the most iconic roles in the history of film: Batman’s eternal nemesis, The Joker. As huge fans, we at Nerdist give him a chance to show the world what he can bring to this legendary role!”
