The Disney+ series starring the God of Mischiefs, Loki, has turned out to be one of the most successful and popular MCU shows. Fans have been waiting for the second season of the show, which is set to unfold more of the time travel drama in October this year. Season 2 is expected to pick up in the aftermath of the first season, as the Asgardian God goes on a quest to look for “Sylvie, Judge Renslayer, Miss Minutes, and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose.”
The trailer does give a hint at where Sylvie ends up in the series, as it shows her working at a McDonald’s. While it is hard to say how she ended up being an employee of the fast food chain, the producer of the show, Kevin Wright, has recently discussed the connection between the series and the fast food chain.
Loki Producer Explains the McDonald’s Connection
The trailer of Loki Season 2, which is set to bring back Tom Hiddleston and Sophia Di Martino, features Sylvie as a McDonald’s employee. Soon after the release of the trailer, the fast food chain also released an As Featured In clip starring the lead actors of the show.
While it has been believed to be a product placement for their collaboration, the producer of the series has explained the narrative for featuring the fast food chain in the series. Talking to Fast Company, Kevin Wright shared that they were faced with a question as they wrapped up the first season.
“Where is she going to go?” after “a decades-long, maybe centuries-long revenge mission,” Wright recalled the question the show’s team had on their mind. The actress who portrayed the character claimed that Sylvie would “probably be pretty hungry.” And that statement set the narrative for Di Martino’s character ending up in McDonald’s in Season 2.
The Marvel executive shared that for a character who had been on the run almost all her life and never had the opportunity to relax, “the novelty of walking into a 1980s McDonald’s looked appealing.” So they decided to move ahead with the same.
