Rockstar Games is busy planning for its next project. Their last few releases have been done brilliantly in the gaming community. Grand Theft Auto 5, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Max Payne 3 have all been highly praised—each one for their uniqueness and the plot. Like always, the gaming community is unsatisfied with one thing: they need more.
They were happy when Rockstar Games announced several games, including GTA 6, were in production. But recently, insider news confirmed that all of them have been canceled except for Grand Theft Auto 6. Fans are quite upset with this news. Among the halted production games, a certain Red Dead Redemption 2 remastered has been a much-awaited video game.
Rockstar Games Cancelled Red Dead Redemption 2 Remastered For GTA 6
Both Red Dead Redemption and GTA are Rockstar’s top gaming franchises. Last year, Rockstar announced that GTA 6 was in production. GTA 5 was released in 2013, so the sequel has been coming for a long time. On the other hand, Red Dead Redemption 2 was released in 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Fans want to experience one of the best open-world in new-gen consoles.
Rockstar was working on the production of Red Dead Redemption 2 Remastered, but instead of focusing on multiple projects, GTA 6 became their sole focus. This ultimately led to the cancellation of RDR2 Remastered. Other than that, GTA 4 Remastered and Red Dead Redemption Remastered were also in production. These, too, have been put aside for the moment. The gaming community fulfilled one of their wishes when they got a Nintendo port for Red Dead Redemption.
From an overall viewpoint, the fans are upset with this news. They always wanted GTA 6, but not by sacrificing these other games. Red Dead Redemption and GTA 4 are classics. Stopping their Remastered version is not well received. Fans want to play RDR2 on 60 fps. Now, their wish will not be fulfilled.

How Does Rockstar’s Plan Affect GTA 6?
Rockstar’s plan to cancel their ongoing projects in favor of GTA 6 is good news for GTA fandom. Tez2, Rockstar’s insider, revealed the good news to GTA fans. They said,” I’ve heard about [the Red Dead Redemption 2 port] a long time ago. As well as [Rockstar’s] plan to come up with an Enhanced Rockstar Editor. All cancelled / halted now.”
They added,” I’m sure GTA VI is going to be a once-in-a-generation event for gaming, but at the moment all I feel is pain that I can’t see Arthur Morgan at 60fps.” Rockstar, focusing on GTA 6, means that the whole team will give their 100% to the game to make it a much-awaited release.
It may be good news for GTA lovers, but not experiencing a video game like Red Dead Redemption 2 on high graphics is a crime.
