He earned over $4 million from his first Spider-Man, then $17.5 million from the second, and eventually over $15 million from the last. However, these were just upfront salaries, as the Spider-Man: No Way Home star also received money from the backend and box office grossing, which eventually ended up with him being $75 million rich.
Even after years, his fortune remains intact and when asked how that is possible, the actor stated (as per The Things),
“I just never wanted to put myself in the position where my spending was so huge that I had to keep making movie after movie.”
While most actors would love to agree to disagree with him, Maguire’s attitude truly reflects how genuine and hard-working individual he is.
Tobey Maguire Is Very Self Aware About His Position
Humility and being genuine are traits rarely found in the world of Hollywood. Despite humble upbringings, many actors forget their past, going on the path of lavishness and extravagance. However, Tobey Maguire still hasn’t forgotten how lucky he is to be in his position. Describing himself as very self-aware, the actor stated in an interview with The Guardian,
“I’m self-aware enough to understand that it’s statistically very hard to achieve the position I’m in. But I also think I have a lot of ingredients that are right for the path that I’ve chosen. I find the way, like water; I like to be productive. I’m constantly reflecting on personal progress. And since I was around 15, I knew I’d be successful. And so I got those ideas, and they have been north stars to me.”
Perhaps that is why the star, despite largely being away from the limelight, continues to enjoy a massive fan following all over the world.
