Marvel did not reach out to Charlie Cox for some time
After Daredevil was canceled by Netflix in 2018, Charlie Cox waited for several months to hear from Marvel. He believed that his time playing the superhero from Hell’s Kitchen had come to an end. However, when Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige finally contacted him, Cox thought it was a prank.
“It was a pretty surreal moment, I’m not going to lie,” Cox told The Hollywood Reporter. “Bear in mind that it’s been a few years. And I was pretty convinced it was over.”
“Kevin said, ‘We’ve got some ideas, but I wanted to make sure that you, in principle, are interested,” he recalled. “And I was like, ‘I’m very interested.’ And then I didn’t hear from anyone for two months. And I got to the point where I wondered if I dreamt it.”
Charlie Cox did receive word back from Marvel regarding his short appearance in the third installment of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man franchise, Spider-Man: No Way Home. When he arrived on set, he admitted to feeling a bit nervous, but he was able to ease back into the role of Matt Murdock.
“I played the character almost every day for four years,” Cox said. “I feel like his essence is deep within me now, I didn’t worry too much about it, but I was still pretty nervous on the day, which I haven’t been for a while.”

Jon said, “I have built in this moment where we reveal you, and no one speaks for a few beats because the audience will have a big reaction,” Cox said in his chat with The Hollywood Reporter. “I was a bit embarrassed, like, ‘Are you sure?’ I was going with the flow, but thinking, ‘I hope it’s not a letdown.“
Charlie Cox, in an interview with Radio Times, revealed that despite receiving numerous calls and text messages about his cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home, where he reprises his role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, his personal experience of watching the scene with an audience was embarrassing. He even went to a nearby theater to witness the reaction of the fans but claimed that “it was dead f**king silent.” Adding to his dismay, his wife was recording the moment for posterity.
Charlie Cox is back in Hell’s Kitchen with Daredevil: Born Again
Marvel fans are in for a treat with the upcoming Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again, which was announced during the San Diego Comic-Con event. According to Marvel Studios, the highly anticipated series will premiere in the spring of 2024 and will consist of 18 episodes.
One of the most exciting aspects of the announcement is the confirmation that Charlie Cox will reprise his role as Matt Murdock, also known as Daredevil.
