Since his big-screen debut as Peter Parker aka Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War (2016), Tom Holland has been making quite a progress with his character. After giving a rollercoaster ride to fans in Spider-Man: No Way Home(2021), he has revealed his plans for the fourth sequel which is currently in development.
In promotion for his new Apple TV+ limited series, The Crowded Room, the English actor addressed sharing his screen with Miles Morales. Stated that he would be honored to see Morales alongside his Peter Parker, Holland is open to the opportunity.
“I would be honored to bring Miles Morales into the live action world. How we do that, I don’t know, but given the opportunity, I would jump at it.”
Bringing the two different versions of Spider-Man is not a difficult task for MCU anymore since it has already introduced the concept of a multiverse which was vastly seen in Holland’s third installment.
Something Exciting Cooking Up for Spider-Man 4
Talking about his probable future collaboration with Morales, he also teased about “some stuff going on” in the upcoming Spider-Man 4 that he is really “excited about.”
Could it be any related to the animated Spidey? Well, it is still a question however Morales getting a live adaptation is not far from the future especially when Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has already grossed over $257 million worldwide.
“Whether or not it’ll come to fruition, who knows?” Holland adds. “But right now it’s looking pretty good, and we’ll just have to wait and see.”
As for how Morales can exist in the same universe as Holland, it could be loosely linked to a common character who was spotted in Holland’s portrayal on Earth-616. An MCU version of Miles’ uncle Aaron Davis (Donald Glover) had a cameo in Homecoming leaving a subtle hint that the franchise might unite two web-slingers together in the future.
While the animated film, Across the Spider-Verse, won fans’ hearts, it left everyone on a major cliffhanger which will be unveiled in the third film, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, which will be released on March 29, 2024.
The Crowded Room is available on Apple+ meanwhile Spider-Man: No Way Home is now streaming on Starz. As for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, it is running in theatres.
