Tom Holland will tread new ground this summer by appearing in a television series titled The Crowded Room. The show which will air on Apple TV+ will see Holland play the role of a young man who is arrested due to his involvement in a shooting at Rockefeller Center in the 70s. The series is based on the real-life crimes of Billy Milligan, who was diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder.
Holland’s effort in the series has reaped rich rewards for the star financially. According to reports, the actor allegedly earned a whopping paycheck that amounted to twice as much as all of his female co-stars put together. Holland reportedly received 4 million dollars for his role in comparison to Amanda Seyfried, Emmy Rossum, and Sasha Lane, who made 1.25 million dollars, 550 thousand dollars, and 260,000 dollars respectively. With such a huge difference in salaries, the onus is now on Holland to prove he is worth his millions.
Tom Holland Had A Meltdown During The Crowded Room Filming
Marvel star Tom Holland opened up about his experiences during the filming of his television series, The Crowded Room. The actor confessed to having a meltdown on set owing to the disturbing intensity of the character and the narrative which is based on true incidents.
“I was seeing myself in [the character], but in my personal life. I remember having a bit of a meltdown at home and thinking, like, ‘I’m going to shave my head. I need to shave my head because I need to get rid of this character.’ And, obviously, we were mid-shooting, so I decided not to… It was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before.”
The project changed Holland’s perspective on mental health and influenced his choice to become sober. The actor, who also doubled up as an executive producer for the show, expressed his hope that the series will encourage viewers to have more respect and sympathy for people who are going through mental health issues.
