Sitting for an interview that was captured and shared by Spider-Man News on X, veteran costume designer Graham Churchyard, mentioned Tom Holland’s Spider-Man was supposed to have a small but significant role in Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange sequel. No Way Home was supposed to release after Multiverse of Madness

Spider-Man: No Way Home was supposed to come out after Multiverse [of Madness], and then with COVID [changes], it then came out before.”

Apparently, according to Graham Churchyard, COVID changed the entire timeline of the MCU movies, which forced Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness to squash out Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man from the movie, as the actor’s solo film got released prior to Benedict Cumberbatch’s sequel.

So Doctor Strange in his new costume and America Chavez were supposed to go into [No Way Home], and Spider-Man was supposed to come in – for a very brief cameo appearance into Multiverse. And then, you know, COVID just shook it all up.”
