Although Hayley Atwell shut down years-long dating rumors surrounding her and Tom Cruise, the actress was mentally disturbed by the media atrocities. Thus, during an interview with The Independent, the actress mentioned the advice she received from her co-star after she discussed the issue with him.

The British actress, Hayley Atwell who co-starred with Tom Cruise in his recent iteration of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, happened to face media sensitization. Following her appearance in the movie, the actress made unnecessary headlines based on romance speculations with her co-star.
Most Hollywood actresses who appear alongside the bachelor heartthrob of Tinseltown, often grab unnecessary media attention and become a victim of dating rumors. Well, Hayley Atwell is no exception. Discussing with The Independent, Atwell mentioned how Tom Cruise offered a surprise helicopter to not just her grandmother, but also her mother. Thus, following such special treatments for her family, came persistent rumors that Atwell and Cruise have had some hot dates of their own. However, the British actress purposefully debunked any such affair.
Tom Cruise’s Piece Of Advice For Hayley Atwell
Speaking with The Independent, Hayley Atwell mentioned how she looked at Tom Cruise and the movie’s director Chris McQuarrie as “sort of two uncles”. Thus, after getting engaged to composer Ned Wolfgang Kelly in April, the actress slammed the dating rumors surrounding her and Cruise as “upsetting” and “invasive”.
Opening up about how she was thoroughly disturbed by the rumors, Atwell stated, “There’s some weird rumors, and it feels base, it feels a little dirty, it feels grubby, it’s not what I’m about,”. Discussing further, the actress added, “Why are things being assumed or projected onto me about my relationship with my work colleague and boss?” That’s when she mentioned seeking advice from Cruise.
“When I’ve talked to him about it, he’d be like, ‘You know exactly who you are. You know what you’re about. And that is the only thing that matters. It doesn’t matter what people think of you, if you are in integrity with yourself, if you know what your value system is.’”
Being in Hollywood for decades, Tom Cruise who apparently “carries his fame like a loose garment” according to the actress, has gotten habituated with such nerve-wracking headlines and speculations. Thus, Cruise offered his intense piece of advice to Hayley Atwell, from his own experience, and saved her the drama.
