Todd Howard Reveals Elder Scrolls VI Will Likely Not Be Completed Until 2028

Recently, Todd Howard took to an interview whilst promoting Starfield to give fans of the long-running series of Elder Scrolls when they will be seeing the next instalment of Elder Scrolls VI. Unfortunately, many fans will be disappointed with the news that there are currently no plans to release the game in the next few years going as far to say it may not even come out till 2028. This will most likely disappoint a lot of fans as Elder Scrolls VI was announced back in 2018 and could still take another five years to develop.

Why will there be such a delay for Elder Scrolls VI to release?

Back in 2018, we received two different announcements revealing that Starfield and Elder Scrolls VI were both in development at that time. Now that Starfield is so close to release, it has brought up the question of when we will see Elder Scroll VI, which unfortunately brought across this upsetting answer from Todd Howard as he stated:

I will say that we want it to fill that role of the ultimate fantasy-world simulator.

Even though fans are more than happy to wait for another instalment to the Elder Scrolls saga, it has many wondering whether or not they may see the release of Elder Scrolls VI, especially as it has such a long release window. Yet, the developers are working tirelessly to ensure that players will get their hands on Elder Scrolls VI they will just have to wait and see what ultimate fantasy-world they are cooking up for us all to play.

Since the announcement of both Starfield and Elder Scrolls VI, many gamers have been eagerly awaiting the release of both games, and now that we will be receiving Starfield in the next week, it has raised the question as to why Elder Scrolls VI was revealed so early and even Todd Howard when asked if he regretted releasing the information for Elder Scrolls VI by GQ’s Sam White he responded by saying:

I have asked myself that a lot…I don’t know. I probably would’ve announced it more casually.”

What does this say about future releases from Bethesda besides Elder Scrolls VI?

Fallout 5 is even further out than the next Elder Scrolls game.

So far, there aren’t many games in the works at Bethesda that many gamers are worried about regarding any delays or potentially being cancelled, but there are a few that will be a cause for concern from players as Bethesda is announcing large delays for Elder Scrolls VI. This has many gamers concerned as it has been announced that Fallout 5 isn’t going to release until after the next instalment of the Elder Scrolls franchise so this could mean we won’t be seeing a new Fallout game until potentially 2030 or later.

This will cause a lot of anger from gamers as both of these franchises are highly popular with gamers, and they have waited for a long time for the next instalments in these franchises. Gamers have been waiting over a decade for the next Elder Scrolls instalment whilst Fallout fans have been waiting for a good few years for another game in the Fallout universe.

What do you think about this unfortunate news regarding Elder Scrolls VI? Will you be waiting five more years to play Elder Scrolls VI, or would you rather play Skyrim again? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
