John Cena is an icon for wrestlers and fans of the WWE, and his Hollywood career is adding to his fame and reputation beautifully. He has had various feuds while he was still actively a part of the wrestling league. And constantly working with the same people on a daily basis can get tiresome.
It was with Cody Rhodes that he could mix well with and rant about almost anything and everything during their car rides. Rhodes’s wrestling career took off in 2007 and he, as well as Cena, became great friends within the duration of their car rides. It added to them contributing to venting and even taking out any frustration that may have built up throughout the day while working with other wrestlers.
John Cena And Cody Rhodes Would Make Fun Of Other Wrestlers
John Cena and Cody Rhodes would often come to work together by carpooling. These rides became more of a need than an act of convenience. This was because the two would often make fun of and rant about everyone they worked with and all the frustration that would have built up by the end of the day.
“Also one of the secrets of these car rides is it’s your time to make fun of everybody on the roster, and it’s your time to get it all out, all the venom out so that when you show up the next day at work, you’re like ‘ah, it’s great. I can work with this guy, this girl all day long, no issue.’ So, that was fun. The secrets of the road is you gotta kind of bury the rest of the roster, and then you’re ready to go the next day.”
Cody Rhodes And John Cena Are Great Friends
John Cena has always seen Cody Rhodes as an upcoming massive star for the WWE. The two hit it off almost immediately when they first met and the car rides only helped them get closer and closer as friends.
“John’s biggest rule was if the crowd is doing something, whether they’re clapping their hands or stomping their feet, you’d have to reward them with something from a psychological standpoint. You gotta keep making them interactive in what we do. And that was always where he went back to.”
Their relationship only improved thanks to the car rides and Rhodes really looked up to Cena. He also talked about how Cena would often try his best to make his matches as entertaining and gripping as possible.
