Fans Demand Alleged New Superman Star David Corenswet Team Up With Jensen Ackles' Batman in DCU

After months of audition tapes and live screen tests, Warner Bros. and DC Studios now have their new Clark Kent and Lois Lane. In James Gunn’s upcoming film Superman: Legacy, David Corenswet has been cast as Clark Kent/Superman, while Rachel Brosnahan will play Lois Lane.

The decision was made after the two were chosen to audition for the roles in front of DC co-chairs Peter Safran and James Gunn (who is directing the film). Thus, it has been officially announced that The Politician actor will play Clark Kent opposite Rachel Brosnahan in Gunn’s upcoming film Superman: Legacy. 

Well, there is nobody more suitable to play Superman in the DCU than Corenswet, who was the fan favorite to play the Man of Steel in the new universe.

Moreover, fans of the DC Universe, on the other hand, have additional demands from the 29-year-old Pearl actor and expect to see him with yet another star.

Fans of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) have banded together to demand that the alleged new Superman, David Corenswet, and well-known actor, Jensen Ackles work together to bring back the legendary team of Superman and Batman. 

Corenswet taking on the role of Superman has been the subject of these multiple social media rumors, piquing fans’ interest in the franchise’s future. For the unversed, Ackles is best known for his role as Dean Winchester in Supernatural. 

Well, the seed for this exciting collaboration was planted when news broke about Jensen Ackles sharing his intention to star as the new version of Batman in The Brave and the Bold. The Supernatural and The Boys star has stated that he would unquestionably be interested in playing Batman in the live-action adaptation of The Brave and the Bold.

Jensen Ackles Wants to Play Batman in the DCU?

We are about to meet new iterations of legendary heroes, including the Dark Knight in The Brave and the Bold, as James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new DC Universe takes shape. Although it is unknown who will play Batman in the upcoming film, Jensen Ackles is prepared and shared interest in stepping into the role.

There have been rumors that the 45-year-old actor is up for the role of Batman in The Bold and the Brave. He addressed the rumors while giving a speech at the Jus In Bello Convention in Italy.

 “I mean, could I do it? Sure. Would I want to do it? Yes.”

Ackles further added that he has not spoken to anyone at DC Studios about taking on the role of Batman in Gunn and Safran’s DC Universe.

“Would I entertain the idea of playing my favorite superhero of all time? Nah, I’m good. It seems like a lot of work, you know. You gotta put in a bat suit and be a superhero,” Ackles joked. “I would love it. Sign me up.”

He does seem receptive to the idea, though. The actor might make a fantastic choice for the part given his prior experience with the superhero genre. 

Meanwhile, the movie Superman: Legacy will hit theaters on July 11, 2025.
