The Jedis are powerful guardians of hope and justice in the Stars Wars world and they are able to wield the power of The Force to do many impressive feats. The Jedi Knights undergo rigorous training and need to be strictly disciplined to conquer the dark side of The Force and are sworn to serve the light.
However, one Jedi Knight who went by the name of Sol Mogra allegedly turned into a serial killer because he used his master’s amulet which was in turn filled with the dark energy of The Force.
The Story of Nil Idyth and his cursed amulet
In George Mann’s book, Dark Legends, the author depicted in one of his stories how the repression of the dark side of The Force can be extremely dangerous for The Jedi Knights. Nil Idyth was a respected and humble Jedi Knight in the story who had an apprentice or Padawan by the name of Sol Mogra. However, Idyth was only noble and full of wisdom because he used to suppress his darker emotions and buried them within his amulet.
During the night, Idyth used to kill people on the lower levels of the Coruscant Underworld. After he came to the realization that he was being overpowered by his dark thoughts, he suppressed his darker emotions in an amulet to stop the killings. After Nil Idyth’s death, his amulet was passed on to his apprentice Sol Mogra who became the very thing that he had sworn to destroy.
Sol Mogra: The Jedi Knight who became a serial killer
After Nil Idyth was assassinated on the planet Ixilix, the amulet was passed on to his apprentice, Sol Mogra. After he received the amulet, the killings in the city began again, and this time Sol Mogara was put in charge of the investigation. He found out that the killer was using the dark side of The Force, but after another Jedi Knight was killed in the city, Sol Mogra came to the horrible realization that he himself was the killer.
Sol Mogra realized soon that his master, Nil Idyth had suppressed his darker emotions in that amulet and that is why he has turned into a serial murderer. After realizing what he has done, instead of giving up on the darkness like his master, Sol Mogra let the darkness of the amulet consume him and he fled into the shadows.
