“This is someone who could kill a man”: James Bond Actor Who Was Unfairy Fired From The $7.8 Billion Franchise Had No Hatred For Daniel Craig And His Legacy

James Bond Actor Who Was Unfairy Fired From The $7.8 Billion Franchise Had No Hatred For Daniel Craig And His Legacy

With such a long and illustrious legacy that the famed 007 franchise has erected with the most iconic spy in the history of cinema, there have been several gifted stars who have been honored with the name of James Bond in their careers, a role that made them living legends and immortalized them in the history books.

And the latest in that long list of stars that have played the role of the British superspy is none other than Daniel Craig, who left the franchise after 2021’s No Time To Die. But before the star had even been part of the picture, another actor was holding the name of Agent 007 in his hands, and he was also the actor who was unjustly evacuated from his role in the franchise. But when asked about what he felt for the man who succeeded him, he had some things to say.

In the mid-1990s, there was the talk of yet another star that was being introduced into the 007 franchise as James Bond himself, and that star turned out to be Pierce Brosnan, who turned out to be one of the most iconic faces that the superspy ever had. But after almost 10 years and four films later, the star had to face the shock of being fired from his position on the basis of being too old to play the role anymore. Along with that, what soured the experience even further was just how unprofessionally he was handed his termination.

And then, in 2006’s Casino Royale, we were introduced to the new James Bond, who was Daniel Craig, the star who is now the latest actor to wear the name of the iconic spy in the list. Since he was the man who had taken over the franchise after Brosnan, it was a natural question to be asked from the Black Adam star about what he felt about Craig and his depiction of Agent 007 in the franchise. In an interview, Brosnan said that he felt that his successor was the right man for the job, saying:

“Daniel Craig has been an incredible Bond. He’s very physical, he looks lethal. You genuinely believe this is someone who could kill a man,”

Harboring no ill will against him, he believed that Craig would do the role justice, and he was right on the mark about that.

His exit from the franchise was an iconic moment in the history of the film series as it had completed its 25th entry in the franchise of the spy’s adventures, but then, the question of who would succeed Craig as the next bond started to pop up left and right. And since the selection process for the face of the 007 franchise is very stringent, there are only rumors about the next stars who are in the race, which include names like Henry Cavill, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Tom Hardy, and many more.
