Chris Pratt is the happy-go-lucky man in Hollywood. He has always enthralled fans whenever he got a small room to bring some mirth into play (who can forget Star Lord coming up with the idea of a dance-off when a blueish entity was about to go on a world-ending rampage). The Jurassic World star’s eye for comic timing is impeccable. But there have been instances when things have gone sideways because of the odd joke that crossed the line.
Chris Pratt’s road to success
Chris Pratt has had a largely successful career. Starting his career at the turn of the century, he cemented a name for himself in no time. Starring in projects like Bride Wars, Wieners, and Wanted provided the impetus his career needed.
The Zero Dark Thirty star’s innate sense of humor and knack for nailing comedic scenes had become apparent by then. These traits were what got him a role in Parks and Recreation.
Why Chris Pratt got into trouble for Parks & Recreation
The American sitcom was the perfect boost for Chris Pratt’s career. The Tomorrow War star was meant to play Andy Dwyer. But it would be wrong to say that it was all rosy. He had the odd run-in with the studio; some minor, some major.
The 44-year-old once ran into some serious trouble for trying to pull off a risky prank. NBC, the studio behind Parks & Recreation, was aghast at its man for a particular act – for baring himself before the camera.
Chris Pratt was reprimanded for baring himself in front of his co-star
In the second season of Parks & Recreation, the Guardians of the Galaxy star stripped naked for a sequence. The Everwood star recounted the whole appearance, saying,
“We were shooting a scene where my character turns up naked at my costar’s door. I was wearing skin-colored underwear and I wasn’t getting quite the right reaction I was hoping for. It was late in the day so I decided to improvise and drop my trousers for the take … [Poehler’s] reaction was great! It was the take they used!”
Rather than thanking him for his ingenuity, the executives were on his tail. He continued,
“I got a letter from NBC’s HR department that said, ‘There is protocol about nude scenes. This is not a joke and you are being reprimanded and you can’t go around telling people about this like some kind of joke!'”
One would expect the stern telling-off to deter anyone. But not Andy Dwyer. The Thor: Love and Thunder star’s response to the letter – “I’ve framed the letter!”
That is just what you expect from Chris Pratt.
