With the clock ticking fast, if the Writers Guild of America fails to reach an agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers before midnight of May 1, the WGA will impose a writer’s strike. Fans concerned about a possible writers’ strike impact on Marvel Studios’ projects

Ever since Avengers: Endgame wrapped the Infinity Saga by sending off some of its most beloved characters in a grandeur manner, the Marvel Studios have been struggling to craft another brilliant narrative. With most of their Phase Four projects being underwhelming and the beginning of their ambitious Multiverse saga being stale, things aren’t looking great for the studio. However, to deal with the situation, it was reported that MCU was adamant about spending more in the writing to solve the issue but the situation surrounding a possible writers’ strike could be a problem.

Following the severity of this issue, fans have been sharing their disappointment over the situation and expressed their views on the subject through Twitter.

But things aren’t looking bright for not only the MCU but the whole industry, as considering the consequences of the previous Writers’ strike, this could be devastating for the industry.

A strike from WGA could be devastating for Hollywood

Previously when the Writers Guild of America decided to impose a strike back in 2007-8, it impacted the entire industry on an astronomical level. With Hollywood losing billions of dollars throughout the 100 days of the strike, several shows were affected in the process, with shows like Breaking Bad, which were forced to end their seasons early.

And following its adverse effects, everyone is hoping that things get settled before the end of midnight on May 1. According to the Writers Guild of America, the streaming era has resulted in declining working conditions for their writers and the writer’s compensation has suffered due to shortened seasons. The AMPTP, which represents the larger corporations addressed the situation and said that they are trying to reach “a fair and reasonable agreement” with the guild.
