Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence is among some of the best actresses in Hollywood. She had her breakthrough with the 2010 independent drama Winter’s Bone, which marked her first Oscar nomination for Best Actress. Making her big screen debut in 2008, the actress gained worldwide recognition and has since become an international star and has starred in several blockbusters.
In addition to her on-screen work, the actress is also known for her outspoken personality. She has been quite open about her opinion on several things, including the “two sides” of Hollywood, which she also complied with to make it big as a movie star.
Jennifer Lawrence Gets Candid About Hollywood’s Two Sides
Following her big break with the 2010 film Winter’s Bone, Jennifer Lawrence did a swimwear photoshoot for Esquire magazine. The actress showed off her sexy side in the shoot. While it resulted in quite the criticism for the X-Men star, she claimed that it was a good career move.
The actress stated that she did the shoot to avoid being typecast in similar roles she had done so far in her career. Some of the trustworthy people around her, including her agent and publicists, told her that it was a good idea. “They said it was a good idea. And I agreed,” she said during an interview with The Guardian.
Talking about the same, she further shared that there are two sides to Hollywood. “There’s the artistic side, which is acting in the movie. But there’s also the business side,” she said, further stating that the Esquire photoshoot was a “good business decision.”
Lawrence has shared she understood that it was a necessary step for her career to establish her as an actress with the capacity to take on any role on the screen. And although she has been criticized for taking such a step at the time, the 33-year-old actress has said that she did not care.
Jennifer Lawrence Did Not Like Being Away From Home
Jennifer Lawrence started acting at a very young age and shared that her parents knew that she had the talent to be an actress and always supported her. The actress celebrated her 18th birthday just before production started for Winter’s Bone and it was the first film for which she was not accompanied by her mother.
“I hadn’t felt like I’d needed her before, but when she wasn’t there, I ended up phoning her crying and asked her to come,” she told The Guardian. The Oscar winner also shared that she did not like staying away from her home and said that it’s been the “least favorite” part of her job as an actress. She has come a long way following the release of her 2010 film Winter’s Bone and has claimed the spot among some of the best and most acclaimed Hollywood stars.
