A legal comedy-drama, Suits has been creating headlines on the digital streaming platform for its humongous sudden views. Its popularity is such that it even left behind Henry Cavill’s The Witcher on Netflix due to its viewership. Known for its extraordinary humor and engaging storyline, the show’s creator revealed that there were plans to create a spinoff based on a very beloved character.
Suits has numerous characters and interactions that have the audience rolling with laughter. Among the many characters, Louis Litt was going to get his own spin-off series thanks to his popularity among the viewers.
Potential Suits Spin-Off Based On Fan-Favorite Character
A pretty prominent character in the show Suits, Louis Litt played by Rick Hoffman, is an excellent multifaceted character. Known for being extremely ambitious, the lawyer’s unique quirks and eccentricity makes him a well-deserved fan-favorite character. Given his popularity, it is no surprise that the show’s creator Aaron Korsh and the crew were hoping to create a spin-off show based solely on Louis Litt. In an interview, producer Gene Klein revealed,
“There were numerous ideas for spinoffs that we mostly just sort of fantasized about. Like, Aaron and I would sit around and go, ‘What about this? What about that?’ taking one or two of the characters and doing their own thing with them, but they just never went anywhere.”
He then added,
“Obviously, there was a Louis Litt-themed one. There were lesser characters who [Aaron] had spinoff ideas for, ideas that would be prequels where it’d be a younger version of, like, an ancillary character. Really interesting, fun ideas that we never took anywhere.”
Among the many characters in Suits, it would have been pretty interesting to have a Louis Litt-based spin-off series, given his significant stature in the show’s entire run.
How Suits Broke The Witcher‘s Viewership Record
Among the many legal comedy dramas, Suits stands out from the rest thanks to its consistency, character development, aesthetic setting, and most importantly legal realism. All these elements combined with its witty and humorous storyline and monologues make it perfect for binge-watching.
Just last month the show hit an impressive number of 3.1 billion viewing minutes, making it top the viewership charts. And the majority of these views, about 75% were from just the first three seasons out of the nine. Even the last of Henry Cavill‘s The Witcher season was left behind by Suits’ impressive performance on the Nielsen streaming data chart.
Suits is available to stream on Netflix.
