Jenna Ortega has become a household name with her constant memorable and iconic performances in films and TV series. However, despite global fame, her status in her home has not changed, as her parents would make her do house chores, as her parents believe this is a way of keeping her grounded.
Jenna Ortega’s Parents Make Sure Their Daughter Stays Grounded
Tim Burton’s Wednesday took the world by storm, as the show has been widely popular gaining 12 Emmy nominations. The show was dark, witty, well-written characters, and the Burtonesque aesthetic made the show extremely popular. But more importantly, it was Jenna Ortega’s phenomenal performance and her viral dance scene in the series that made the show a cultural phenomenon.
Ortega’s performance has made her a global celebrity, and during an exclusive interview with People, she stated how her parents had supported her dreams since day one, and she can not thank them enough for it.
“I love that I [come] home to the Coachella Valley [after filming] and see my family and friends who have been with me from day one. It’s nice to have them by my side always.”
The actress further added that despite her being an A-tier celebrity in the industry, her parents make her do house chores to keep her a humble personality.
“I get home from the set, and they do not forget to tell me that there are dishes in the sink waiting for me. They keep my feet on the ground.”
Ortega continued that despite the work, her parents worry for her safety and well-being, as she is their little girl. She expressed her love for them and considers herself grateful for having the greatest parents.
“I think it’s hard for them to see me less and less and less. I’m a small girl, I travel a lot. They’re more worried about the safety aspect of it all. But they just want me to be good. I’m very, very fortunate. I have the greatest parents. They just want me to be safe and happy.”
While the X actress is grateful to have parents who have supported her dreams from day one, she feels overwhelmed by the fame she received at a young age.

In the same interview with People, the Elena of Avalor actress stated that growing up with fame came with a “lot of pressure,” forcing her to grow up quickly.
“I’ve dealt with a lot of pressure from social media. I discovered the world of fake people and it’s crazy and it’s kind of a lot. I feel like I grew up quick.”
The actress acknowledged that this was her ultimate goal, as the directors often tell her how she would steal their jobs, and she adds how she dreams of becoming a director one day.
“But it’s cool because I understand so much of the film world now. The director on set will tell me: ‘Jenna you are going to take our jobs,’ which is the goal! I hope to be a director one day.”
Jenna Ortega has grown into a successful actress cementing her legacy, and possibly in the near future fans would see her in other popular films or TV Series genres as well.
