Daredevil: Born Again, a new show was slated for Disney+ as it was announced in May 2022. The popular Netflix show, however, would not continue forward as the reboot casts some similar actors including Charlie Cox as Daredevil.
The end of the popular Netflix show has upset the showrunners and the crew as well and they have called out to Disney for rebooting the show while there was room for a potential fourth season. Although Marvel or Disney never officially mentioned specifying “reboot” there are many factors about the show that indicate it.

Netflix Daredevil Showrunner Condemned Disney
It is highly unlikely that Disney would go with the continuation of the Netflix superhero series. Certainly, the studio would want to make it their own. Of course, Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio are returning to reprise their roles but per reports, Foggy Nelson and Karen Page are not coming back to the new show. Judging by these factors, it is safe to assume that the Disney show would have a new story. But Netflix’s Daredevil Season 1 showrunner, Steven McKnight was clearly upset with the “reboot.” Responding to a post on X, McKnight lashed out to the studio,
McKnight was tagged on a post on X by a user who claimed to be a crew member of the Netflix show. “And not only did they cancel Daredevil once crew got full raise and holiday/vacation pay,” the user wrote on X. “The Disney+ reboot is back to season one IATSE contract terms. It’s a f****** scam. I wonder if Steven DeKnight knows that!” the user added tagging the showrunner. It caught McKnight’s attention and he responded by condemning Disney. McKnight wrote on X:
“It’s an old Disney scam where they slightly rename a series to reset contract terms back to first season. Needs to be addressed by all the guilds/unions and crushed!”
Certainly, fans would be excited to see Cox being a full-timer in the MCU but a new line of story might confuse many as the Netflix show is still relatively fresh and some fans are still attached to the story waiting for a proper ending.
Fans Reacted to Steven McKnight’s Response
Like any online debate, fans are divided by McKnight’s response to the new Disney show. While some fans are happy with Cox’s full-time in the MCU, many have supported McKnight and the Netflix show. Undoubtedly, the Netflix show was quite separate and conditioned to limited resources. MCU will surely uplift the show and the popular character bringing more Marvel characters onboard, sometimes in highlighting cameos. Back to fans, they will definitely get a new Daredevil show but it would be interesting to see how they would take it. But for now, here’s how they responded:
One user showed more concern about ruining the comics
Another is concerned about messing up the show
Another supports McKnight
One user has posted his neutral viewpoint on this matter
As production of Daredevil: Born Again is at a halt, the release information is under wraps. But many fans are waiting to see the return of the hero to his home.
