These Are the Free Titles on the Epic Game Store For This Month

Coming relatively soon, on the 27th of July, we will be getting another set of games for free on the Epic Games Store; at the moment, we currently have access to Elder Scrolls Online, even though it keeps disappearing then reappearing, and we also have Murder by Numbers which is a unique set of games. Still, we will be looking towards a more sci-fi selection to enjoy on Thursday.

What games will be coming on July 27th?

When gamers think about sci-fi, there are a lot of franchises that come to mind; most gamers will think about Star Wars, Star Trek, Cyberpunk and even Dead Space. These games, unfortunately, will not be the games that will be coming on the 27th of July, as we will be getting two unique games called Homeworld Remastered Collection and Severed Steel, these games may not be known to many gamers, but they are still worth a grab whilst they are free.

The first game worth talking about is Homeworld Remastered Collection which is a remastered version of the two games that were released back in 1999 and 2003. Both games will be included in the collection and give gamers access to the original games and an HD remaster with updated voice acting, updated cutscenes and cleaner combat.

Throughout this game, players will be taking part in 3D real-time strategy gameplay as they travel the stars, gathering resources, fighting enemy ships and exploring numerous planets whilst going through a rather impressive story.

The second game on offer is Severed Steel. This game is a fast-paced first-person shooter, which has you as the player running around numerous levels at a very fast pace as you are able to steal guns off enemies and run along walls to shoot down the enemy soldiers. This game also includes a creative mode so that players can also create their own levels for other players to attempt; there are even some unique modifiers that can be put onto your runs to make the game a lot more fun whilst also having a rather interesting story mode that players can attempt.

This free sale has also come at a good time, as recently, the game has received an update so that players can access more guns, more levels and more enemy variants.

Are these games worth it to play?

From what I can tell, these games are worth giving a go, especially because they are free, as usually, these games can be pretty expensive. Still, both games have a lot of playtime that they can offer gamers as each game in the Homeworld Remastered Collection has up to 15 hours worth of campaign to play, and that isn’t even with exploring and potential multiplayer gameplay that the player can take part in.

Also, Severed Steel has a 3-hour story which isn’t very long, but that is if you just playthrough without trying to 100% the game itself and not even trying other modes.

Both of these games will have a lovely place in gamers’ libraries, and hopefully, they will get a lot of enjoyment out of these unique sci-fi classics as they wait for more interesting games to come onto the Epic Game Store. Will you be getting these games whilst they are free? Let us know in the comments what you think about this and if you will be taking part in trying out these unique games!
