Recently, Sony announced that they will launch PlayStation Portal, allowing gamers to play PlayStation games on handheld gaming. Nintendo is also planning on Switch 2. But these gaming handheld devices won’t surpass what Lenovo will bring to the gaming community. They announced their new gaming handheld device, Lenovo Legion Go, on 1 September 2023.

Lenovo announced their upcoming gaming handheld device, Lenovo Legion Go. Their motto is to make gaming much more comfortable and easier. The new device allows them to play video games wherever and whenever they want. The specs of the handheld device are top-tier, something that has not been seen before. Jun Ouyang, Lenovo’s Vice President, said he is proud of Lenovo Legion, which has revolutionized the game world with PCs, Laptops, monitors, and other accessories.

He said,” We are so proud that Lenovo Legion has become a go-to brand for gamers around the world, through the success and popularity of our laptops, tower PCs, monitors, and accessories. As we scan the gaming landscape, we see that gamers are a versatile and varied group, and Lenovo Legion likewise endeavors to provide gamers with solutions that suit them.”

Jun Ouyang added,” With this in mind, we began designing the Lenovo Legion Go over two years ago in order to empower gamers around the world to game their way. With the introduction of the Lenovo Legion Go, we are excited to expand our Lenovo Legion gaming ecosystem with a device that allows gamers to—literally—game on the go.”

Lenovo Legion Go will have an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor with AMD RNDA™ Graphics, 8.8-inch QHD+ 16:10 Lenovo PureSight gaming display, 16GB LPDDR5X (7500Mhz) RAM, 1TB PCIe Gen4 SSD and micro-SD slot supporting up to 2TB of extra storage, 49.2Wh capacity battery, and have Windows 11 pre-installed.

Other specifications of the gaming handle device include a liquid crystal polymer 79-blade fan, the fan noise does not increase more than 25dB, and dual USB Type-C® ports. Apart from these, it will have detachable Legion TrueStrike controllers, which can be detached and give players a more flexible gaming experience. The Super Raid Charge feature will help the device reach 70% charge in just 30 minutes.

But the best feature of all is that Lenovo Game Store will collaborate with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. This will help the players access thousands of games that are available on Xbox. It will come with a 3-month complimentary membership.

The Lenovo Legion Go gaming handheld device consists of three parts – Lenovo Legion Go, Lenovo Legion Glasses, and Lenovo Legion E510 7.1 RGB Gaming In-Ear Headphones. The first one is the main handheld device, and the other two are extensions.

The Lenovo Legion Go will have 8.8-inch screen, compared to PlayStation Portal’s 8-inch screen. With Windows operating system, AMD Ryzen graphics and processors, it will be a beast of a handheld device.

The Lenovo Legion Glasses come with a unique feature. Players who will be tired of playing it on the small screen can connect the Lenovo Legion Glasses to the device and enjoy the game on a virtual big screen. The glasses are virtual monitors with micro-OLED display technology that people can wear and enjoy. The micro-OLED display feature will provide a 60Hz refresh rate for each eye with high contrast and colour range.

The Lenovo Legion E510 7.1 RGB Gaming In-Ear Headphones will have driverless 7.1 surround sound. It will have a USB-C connector and provide every sound to make it a real gaming experience. Enemy footsteps, gunfire, crowd cheer, etc., will all be crystal clear. The earbuds will have a classy touch given by the RGB strip.

The Lenovo Legion Go will be priced at around $859, including all the taxes. The Lenovo Legion Glasses will cost around $536, including all the taxes, and the Lenovo Legion E510 7.1 RGB Gaming In-Ear Headphones will cost around $54, including all the taxes.

Even though the release has not been confirmed, the Lenovo Legion GO is expected to arrive in November 2023, and the Lenovo Legion Glass and Lenovo Legion E510 7.1 RGB Gaming In-Ear Headphones are expected to be launched in October 2023.

Lenovo is a Chinese Multinational Company with an empire of $8.9 Billion. No one saw them entering the handheld devices business, yet here we are. They have done their research well. Fans are now waiting to get their hands on the latest gaming handheld. The features look great, but everything depends on the performance. For the moment, only time can answer those questions.
