Filmmakers who’ve set themselves apart from the rest of the herd, following their distinct filming style and storytelling methods, often tend to work with the same set of actors and crew members. The same goes for DC head James Gunn, whose movies have witnessed several recurring actors, including his brother Sean Gunn alongside Michael Rooker, and Jennifer Holland.
With the director now ready to run an entire cinematic universe, it’s reasonable to assume that his upcoming DC entries will witness several recurring actors, especially from his Guardians trilogy. According to his recent remarks, it seems he has already mapped out DC roles for these two prominent Guardians of the Galaxy actors.
Are Chris Pratt and Pom Klementieff Coming to DCU?
While recently replying to fans on Threads, James Gunn obliquely implied that he might have certain roles planned out for Chris Pratt and Pom Klementieff. After a fan requested James Gunn to bring these two Guardians Stars as guest appearances in Peacemaker 2, playing themselves, Gunn brushed out this idea because of classified reasons, hinting towards the duo’s possible DCU debut.
“There are reasons I wouldn’t want either of those actors to play themselves in the DCU!” Gunn stated
While there hasn’t been any substantial weight behind these speculations, it won’t be surprising to witness the two in the DCU in the foreseeable future, as they’ve showcased interest in joining DC.
Pom Klementieff Confirmed Being in Talks With James Gunn Regarding Her DCU Debut
While promoting Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, Pom Klementieff did open up about being in talks with James Gunn over playing one particular character. Considering she made a brief appearance in Gunn’s first DC outing, The Suicide Squad, it’s not hard to imagine her playing a prominent part in the new DCU following her working relationship with James Gunn.
“I’m not going to tell you which character. No, we’ve been talking about it, and there’s one specific character that he’s thinking of, and I think it would be really, really awesome. And it would have [me] continue doing action too, so it’s exciting.” She said.
Chris Pratt has also been fan-cast as Booster Gold, as fans are assured he is the perfect fit to pull off that character in the upcoming Max show. And even though nothing can’t be said for sure before any official confirmation arrives from Gunn himself, fans can be optimistic about witnessing the two in the new DCU sooner rather than later.
Nothing has been confirmed, however, keeping everything rather speculative and having fans hope for a future in the DCU for both the Marvel actors.
