Quickly becoming one of Netflix’s most beloved shows, Henry Cavill featuring The Witcher is back with its third season. Venturing on the long road of epic battles, and character development, the series is set to be Cavill’s last lead in the fantasy hit. Thus, fans are more than eager to pick back up with the tale of Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer.
While Henry Cavill marks his prominent farewell from the show, executive producers make sure to give him a “strong” exit. Working behind the scenes for several months, although Liam Hemsworth is set to take over The Witcher Season 4 as the White Wolf, fans can’t help but wonder about Cavill’s exit.
The Witcher Is Back On Netflix With Season 3
After climbing into Netflix’s most-watched TV list in just one month, The Witcher gets back on the streaming platform with their third season. Previously uniting the three main characters; Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill), Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra), and Ciri (Freya Allan) the show ended with the second season.
Finally getting back after years, with the third season, marking the exit of Henry Cavill as Geralt, The Witcher is set to break some records all over again. Expertly orchestrating character development, mixed with insane special effects, the show brings back the magical world of Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Witcher. Serving the audience with a trailer on 25th April 2023, the show created massive hype.
Further showcasing where the story is headed while hyping us for everything to come, The Witcher Season 3 dropped another two and a half minutes full trailer on June 8th, 2023. Clearly showing the grave dangers awaiting the characters this season, The Witcher tickled audiences’ curiosity. Finally, season 3 arrived on Netflix on June 29th, to explore the “found family” dynamic between Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri.
Henry Cavill Gets A Strong Exit In Season 3
While The Witcher returns to the streamer with season 3, it also reminds the fans of Henry Cavill’s exit from the show only to feature Liam Hemsworth as the White Wolf in season 4. So, while fans are eager to pick back where they left off, they are also willing to see a “strong exit” for Cavill, as previously promised by the executive producers.
Speaking with Yahoo UK, executive producers Steve Gaub and Tomek Bagiński opened up about the transition that will mark Henry Cavill’s exit from the show. “It’s a very strong season for Henry, a great final run for him as Geralt,” Gaub stated. Since fans were furious about changing Geralt from Cavill to Hemsworth, producers promised a “heroic send-off” to the star.
“I think the most important thing for us was to make sure he was very proud of those last [scenes], invariably those last moments are the ones you leave an audience with, and those last couple episodes are very strong episodes for him. I think he left with his head held high.” Steve Gaub mentioned.
Thus, wrapping up his time on the show, producers give a “strong” exit to Henry Cavill. Tomek Bagiński mentioned, “It was a great journey to have Henry Cavill on this show and we will miss him.” He further went on to mention Liam Hemsworth’s introduction as the new version of Geralt. Therefore, following the producers’ promises, fans are eagerly looking forward to the heroic exit of Cavill.
