When it comes to Naruto, fans might find it challenging to select a favorite female character. While Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha take on the roles of the story’s main protagonists, the duo is accompanied by supporting characters who play a crucial role in their journey.
Sakura, Ino, Hinata, and Tenten are just some of the female ninjas out there keeping their squads in line. Choosing a favorite one might pose a challenge, yet it isn’t impossible. After all, the creator of Naruto appears to have a favorite waifu in his own mind.
If you’ve ever been curious about Masashi Kishimoto’s personal inclination towards a female character, then you don’t have to wonder anymore.
In this article, you’ll get to know the favorite female character of the creator himself.
Masashi Kishimoto’s Favorite Waifu in His Own Series
The beloved artist has revealed who his favorite girl in the series is, and his choice centers around the Hyuga clan. Masashi Kishimoto‘s favorite female character from the Naruto series is none other than Hinata.
The artist has praised the quiet ninja over the years, and Kishimoto’s sentiments have not changed with time. Last December, the creator was asked about his preference during a celebration for Naruto at Jump Festa. Kishimoto had this to say when he was asked about his favorite female character:
“Female characters… it feels kind of creepy to say I like a character that I made. I like them all. But I like Hinata.”
This is not the first time Kishimoto has shown his preference for Hinata to the public. When asked why Kishimoto preferred Hinata over other female characters, the artist laughed, saying, “I guess because she’s not violent at all.”
But, do you know? Everyone’s favorite waifu, Hinata’s character was inspired by a real-life person.
Creator’s Favorite Waifu is Based on his Own Wife
With being the favorite female character in the series, Kishimoto also has a soft spot for Hinata. She also has one of the most engaging backstories apart from Naruto. And she’s the one Naruto eventually falls in love with.
Considering Hinata is based on Kishimoto’s wife, the favoritism becomes completely logical.
The events of The Last: Naruto the Movie draw partial inspiration from Kishimoto’s personal relationship with his wife. Once her wife made a scarf and gifted it to Kishimoto in real life, which inspired Hinata’s gift to Naruto.
Interestingly, all the animators were aware of the origin of the scarf gift and liked to joke about it during the movie’s production.
