The first installation in the new Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe commenced four days ago with the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. While there have been a lot of high expectations for the new phase of the MCU, especially with the problem of superhero fatigue, Ant-Man 3 must’ve aimed at satisfying fans and giving them the content they deserve.
However, as far as anyone who has access to the internet can see, the movie seems to have missed the mark. The reviews for the movie are pretty average, mostly on the bad side, and the fact that the person who wrote Quantumania is assigned to write this one major movie in the franchise does not sit well in the minds of fans.

Ant-Man 3‘s Performance Has Not Lived Up To Expectations Despite Some Positives
Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe seeks to liven up the mood of the fanbase who as of late have been disappointed by the lack of variety in narratives and plotlines in the MCU’s massive output of TV series and movies.
Much like every phase, this will also be packed with a lot of content for fans to enjoy. Fans will be graced by a new season of Loki, a reboot of the Daredevil TV series named Born Again, the introduction of the Thunderbolts in the movie of the same name, and so on.
Phase 5 starts off with a highly anticipated third installation in the Ant-Man movie series with Ant-Man 3 or Quantumania. However, despite the bar set for the Paul Rudd-starring movie, reviews for the same have not been too positive.
Major review websites Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic showed that the movie’s ratings on their respective websites indicate a mediocre reception to the movie- the former having a 47% approval rating and the latter providing a statistic that shows a 48 out of 100 score based on reviews from 60 critics.
Critics have pointed out that the one positive takeaway from the movie is the promising performance of Kang the Conqueror actor Jonathan Majors, who plays the next big villain in the MCU after Thanos.
The blame is mostly going toward the poorly-written screenplay and storyline by Jeff Loveness, with one critic even stating that the movie offers nothing beyond introducing Kang into the MCU.
However, Ant-Man 3 is currently the highest-grossing movie of 2023 after grossing more than $200 million worldwide. At least it lived up to the commercial targets that have been set although that’s what one would expect of a movie from the MCU.
Fans Blast Ant-Man 3 Writer, Want Him Out Of Writing Role For Avengers
What was to be the successful start of Phase 5 of the MCU and the release of Ant-Man 3 is being bombarded with negative reviews by critics. Quantumania writer Jeff Loveness is the man being targeted here, and fans want him out.
What worries fans is the fact that Loveness has also been assigned by Marvel to work on the fifth entry into the Avengers movie series Kang Dynasty- a much-awaited movie that fans are eager to watch considering the four long years that have passed since Endgame‘s release.
But the failure of the writer’s work in impressing critics after watching Ant-Man 3 has fans super worried, and the meltdown is ongoing on Twitter-

If the MCU is seeking to replicate, or even more ambitiously try to best the success of Avengers: Endgame with Avengers: Kang Dynasty then they will have to seriously take another close look at Jeff Loveness’ ability as a writer.
